Dear Shane:

RE: "STAYING ALIVE" PROGRAM

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your efforts and dedication in promoting fire safety for children. Both the "Staying Alive" Web site and the "Great Escape" CD are truly fine examples of educational initiatives that teach children the principles of fire safety in a fun and interactive manner. These programs provide a positive influence for children and lessen the risk of fire tragedies occurring.

The value of these initiatives is recognized in light of the tremendous support received through volunteerism and sponsorship on both corporate and government levels. I have personally witnessed the rapid expansion of this program and the interest it has generated worldwide.

Children are impressionable and eager to learn at an early age. The ability to instill the importance of fire safety and home escape planning at a young age will certainly have positive and life long behavioral influences. It is in this respect that I clearly recognize the value of these initiatives in saving lives!

Congratulations in the success of the "Staying Alive" program and I look forward to your future endeavors for promoting fire and life safety.

Sincerely,

Peter W. Kloos
Director of Fire Prevention
Fire Paramedic Service
